Tyler and Tejinder were both raised in Hancock County and followed similar paths by earning their undergraduate degrees at West Virginia University and attending WVU College of Law. After graduation, they developed experience in demanding areas of practice: Tyler in insurance defense and Tejinder in toxic tort litigation. Tyler then decided to open his own practice in 2019, and when Tejinder joined him in 2021, Cline & Singh was formed.

Tyler Cline

Attorney at Law

Tyler earned his B.S.B.A. in Finance, cum laude, from West Virginia University, with minors in History, Psychology, and Communications, before continuing on to the WVU College of Law. From an early age, he was drawn to work that involved problem solving, advocacy, and helping others navigate challenging situations, which ultimately led him to pursue a career in law.

During law school, Tyler received the ABA–Bloomberg BNA Award for Excellence in the Study of Labor and Employment Law and earned CALI Awards in Advanced Labor Law, Elder Law, and Jurisprudence. He also served as a Graduate Assistant in the WVU Financial Aid Office, where he worked closely with students and families to address financial concerns and access educational opportunities, further reinforcing his commitment to service-oriented work.

Tyler developed his practical legal skills as a Student Attorney in the WVU Entrepreneurship & Innovation Law Clinic, where he represented small West Virginia businesses in matters involving nonprofit formation, trademark clearance, and filings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Through this experience, he gained firsthand insight into the challenges individuals and organizations face when navigating complex legal systems and developed a practical, client-centered approach to advocacy.

Tejinder Singh

Attorney at Law

Originally hailing from a small village in Punjab, India, Tejinder immigrated to the United States in 1994 and eventually settled in Weirton, WV. Tejinder attended West Virginia University, graduating in 2015 with a degree in Political Science. He knew from an early age that he wished to pursue a career that would allow him to make a positive change in the lives of others. As a result, the decision to attend the WVU College of Law was a foregone conclusion.

During his time in law school, Tejinder gained an affinity for labor and employment-related issues as well as public service. He was a member of WVU's Labor Law Society as well as a founding member of the College of Law's chapter of the National Asian Pacific American Law Student Association.

Cognizant of his own fortunes as an immigrant, Tejinder joined the College of Law's Immigration Clinic to aid others in finding similar success. There, he worked extensively to aid clients in matters ranging from work visas to asylum. Tejinder's work with the Immigration Clinic has given him an acute awareness of the vulnerabilities his clients may face as they traverse the legal process.
